NATIVE PLANT DAY SALE – ORDER FORM
order by May 21, 2007, pickup May 26, 2007

In an effort to help promote plants native to our region, (& in support of water
savings, fertilizer savings & native animals!) Save Barnegat Bay, the
Mantoloking Environmental Commission and the Bay Head Environmental Commission
have teamed up to hold a Native Plant Day Sale and provide residents plants from
Pinelands Nursery and Toadshade Wildflower Farm. Pinelands Nursery plants are at
especially tremendous savings – wholesale cost, without shipping or tax charges.
Most of the plants listed are those that Pinelands Nursery and Toadshade
Wildflower Farms consider especially salt-tolerant. Other additions are plants
we know to grow in the wild at Island Beach State Park. We need to receive
checks and order forms at the Save Barnegat Bay Lavallette office by May 21 to
place an order. We cannot accept money at the pickup. Both suppliers have only a
limited supply of each plant and of each pot size, not to mention many customers
besides us, so the earlier we receive payment and can hold your plants the
better. Pickup will be at the Mantoloking Yacht Club May 26th between 9am and
3pm.

Why go Native?

1. Native plant landscapes do not need pesticides or fertilizers, better for
kids and animals
2. Native plant landscapes need less water, saving money and resources

3. Replacing a lawn with native plants reduces time spent mowing, raking and
watering
4. Native plants attract native wildlife, such as more birds and butterflies
5. Native plants are great for creating drought-tolerant yards
6. Native plants are less expensive to care for than ornamentals
7. Native plants help control erosion and reduce runoff, keeping sediments and
pollutants out of our waterways
8. Native plants survive better than many ornamental plants
9. Native plants reduce problems with weed species
10. Native plants give your yard a true shore aesthetic.
