In a back room deal, developers and their friends in the State House recently and quickly passed “Fast Track” legislation giving developers their full agenda in relation to to the regulatory process in New Jersey.

A coalition has been formed to work for repeal.

“Fast Track” accelerates and weakens the permitting process in many ways. Just one example: A developer can hire his own consultant to rule on his application!

Save Barnegat Bay has consistently taken the postion that until environmentalists rally around efforts to get the money out of New Jersey politics, our natural environment will continue to disappear. The overwhelming popularity of our cause means nothing in a political system structured to favor a small cadre of wealthy, corrupt special interests.

Unfortunately the environmental community in New Jersey, has chosen not to engage the issue of money in politics. Now we are in a real – and in our opinion predictable – fix.
