Fall Jellyfish Observation Day

Fall Jellyfish Observation Day

We are back for another Jellyfish Observation Day!

We are almost ready to begin our first round of bulkhead scrubbing in Berkeley Shores.  Stop on by the Berkeley Dive house to learn more about the program and meet the divers doing the scrubbing. Don’t forget your settling plates, Dr. Paul Bologna and his students will be showing you what they found on your plates throughout the night.

Tentative Schedule

Starting at 5: Check in, grab refreshments and get a look at your settling plates under a microscope.

Starting at 6: Meet the Chief, Greg Elliott and President, Carl Mattocks of BTUSAR. Learn more about the boats and equipment they’ll be using to scrub your bulkheads in the coming months.

6:30-7: Get another chance to look at your settling plates under the microscope and meet our whole jellyfish team.

Community Scientists— Don’t Forget Your Settling Plates!

It’s your time to shine! Bring in your settling plates and get a chance to look at them under a microscope!

For easy transportation, uninstall your settling plate and place it in a large bucket of water from your lagoon. This should ensure that anything settling on the plates will still be alive upon observation.

Please RSVP HERE!

The event is finished.
