Hi Jen and Willie,
Boy, it sure gets the tears flowing to see your concepts for a park and public access at Trader’s Cove. The amount of public value for generations that even a small access park on Barnegat Bay can provide will far exceed any benefit to a few if the site had been destroyed by high density development.
Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, for example is only 31 acres and provides recreation and interpretive experiences for over 300,000 visitors annually who may come to fish, picnic, bird, learn about our maritime history, or just to watch the boats in the inlet. I hope that your campaign has begun to make people recognize what is lost when greed trumps the public interest in land use decisions. Maybe public officials are beginning to get the message? Congratulations on a great fight!

Former Superintendent, Island Beach, Barnegat Light & Double Trouble State Parks

Jen, Willie…
Keep up the good work.
Marinas are a dying breed in New Jersey. But the bigger point is PUBLIC ACCESS. That too is a dying breed. So, the park idea works–PUBLIC ACCESS.
Be well.
Mark Mutter
Former Mayor and environmental advocate, Dover Township.

As a former owner of the property in question, I congratulate you on your beautiful concept for the use of the site at the foot of the Mantoloking Bridge.
My former husband, E. J. Sterner, (now deceased) and I owned Pleasure Cove Marina having sold it in the early 70’s to Mr. Miller.
I like your idea and wish you the very best in seeing your concept to fruition. Good Luck.
Charlotte H. Sterner
Former owner of the Traders Cove site.
