Write Senator Corzine to urge more federal acquisition funding to expand the Edwin B. Forsythe
National Wildlife Refuge.
Re: Please write Senator Corzine requesting maximum federal funding to expand the Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.
March 2002
Dear Save Barnegat Bay Supporter,
Save Barnegat Bay needs you to take ten minutes to write a letter to Senator Jon Corzine to impress upon him the urgent need to fund the expansion of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge along the coast of New Jersey.
Over the last decade one of the most effective tools for protecting the Barnegat Bay watershed has been Federal purchase of environmentally sensitive open space. Thousands of acres have been conserved in Brick, Toms River, Bayville, Lanoka Harbor, Forked River, Waretown, Barnegat, Stafford, Eagleswood, Little Egg Harbor, and Long Beach Township.
At present, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is oversubscribed with willing sellers. Hundreds of acres will be lost to developers if Congress does not provide the necessary funding.
Please write:
Hon. Jon Corzine
US Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Ask Senator Corzine to work vigorously for maximum Fiscal Year 2002 funding
for expanding the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. Mention any
areas of particular concern to you.
Please ask Senator Corzine to visit the Forsythe Refuge this spring with
Save Barnegat Bay.
Sincerely,
William deCamp, Jr., President
Save Barnegat Bay
