Join a passionate network of community members dedicated to preserving Barnegat Bay and its surrounding environment.

As a Community Captain, you’ll stay informed on local developments by attending town or county meetings, focusing on issues that impact your neighborhood and the Barnegat Bay Watershed.

Our goal is to build a team of engaged citizens who are actively involved in local decision-making—whether it’s participating in town council meetings, planning and zoning board discussions, contributing to environmental committees, or so much more. We want to help YOU get involved! Attending these meetings is one of the most impactful ways to advocate for the bay and protect the places we love.

Save Barnegat Bay hosts monthly Community Captains meetings virtually via zoom at 5:30 PM on the first Tuesday of every month. These sessions provide a space to share updates, address concerns, and collaborate with others who share a passion for protecting our community and natural spaces. Together, we can tackle environmental issues, strengthen partnerships with municipalities, and ensure Barnegat Bay stays protected.
