Bay Scouts at Save Barnegat Bay

Did you know that Save Barnegat Bay is proud to charter Boy Scout Troop 50 and serves as the home base for other scout  and youth organizations, including Frontier Girls? Located within a stunning 40-acre Green Acres protected property, our EcoCenter offers the perfect setting for scouts to connect with nature right in our backyard.

We believe there’s no better classroom than the great outdoors, and we’re thrilled to share this unique space with scouting friends across the watershed. Whether it’s hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, or skills building, we’re here to support our scouts every step of the way.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining Troop 50, reach out to our friend and Scoutmaster, Alan Fumo, at thefumo4@aol.com to start your adventure!

Eagle Scout Projects & Volunteering

Beyond chartering and hosting scouts, Save Barnegat Bay is honored to sponsor Eagle Scout projects that contribute meaningful improvements to our EcoCenter. We’ve been fortunate to receive many inspiring projects—like native gardens, boat racks, and educational displays—all thanks to the dedication of local scouts.

If you’re working toward Eagle Scout status or need volunteer hours, email Alec at outreach@savebarnegatbay.org to discuss your project ideas. We’re excited to see how you’ll make an impact!

“Our partnership with Save Barnegat Bay provides an incredible experience for our scouts. It’s a place where they can explore, learn, and contribute to something greater than themselves.”

— Alan Fumo, Scoutmaster
